Ready to Spring Forward

It's been a long, cold, snowy winter. I'm over it. I'm ready for spring, and summer, and sun, and warmth... ice cream, and cookouts... open-toed shoes and and going out coat-free. But until then, I'll use these sunny and warm spaces to hold me over.

Drinking in Style- Cool Find

Check out these stainless steel straws from Brook Farm. $18.00 for a set of six. I'd be pretty impressed if someone offered me a straw like this to drink my beverage.

Stripes Are In

Mitchell Gold+Bob Williams

I love stripes. They add so much visual interest to any room or any household item. Thanks to the Origo Collection, I'm now convinced that any pattern you desire in a fabric, you can also find for your kitchen items.

The Selby

I was perusing photographer Todd Selby's blog, The Selby, and found a lot of amazing design elements in his pictures. He is an interiors, portrait, and fashion photographer whose current project focuses on the interiors of creative individuals. Check out some of his work:

Boutique manager, Matthew Eikelberger at home in LA.

Fashion designer, Alexander Wang at work in Soho, NYC.

Editor and publisher of Paper Magazine, at home in Greenwich Village, NYC.

Tattoo artist, Scott Campbell, in his studio in Brooklyn.

Musician Bob Bruno at home in Los Angeles, CA. I love that door...

Whizz kid, Mark Morrison at home in London.

Hoteliers and perfumers, Nicolas Malleville and Francesca Bonato at their beach hotel and in Mexico. The floor tile is stunning!

Nesting Newbies Magazine

Nesting Newbies is a new online home magazine that is a true page turner! They have great recipes, party ideas, decor inspirations, and more. I mean, anyone exhibiting a way to serve hot cocoa in a crockpot has my vote. From Moroccan styled table settings to a hanging buffet, I was truly inspired by the pages in this magazine. I can't wait for the next issue.

What's Going On At Pier1

Pier 1 Imports is great for an eclectic mix of home furnishing ideas. I raced through the store quickly so I wouldn't buy too much, but of course I couldn't leave without buying something. Here are some of the items that caught my eye.

And what did I end up buying...?

Ta-da!

The cobalt blue drinking glasses! The color is such a perfect match for the plates I bought from World Market. I couldn't resist. They were on sale.

Even water will look good in these!
