The W Hotel- Dining Over the City

Recently, I went to POV's Roof Terrace at the W Hotel to check out the decor. I'm disappointed to say that I was, well, disappointed. The view over downtown DC was nice, but not enough to make up for the unmoving surroundings.

I'll have to check out POV's restaurant inside before I make a final judgement. The website's pictures make it look pretty lavish:

The food is tapas style, and what I ordered was pretty good. I tried the grilled tuna burger with shiso and yuzu pickles, and the spiced chicken somosas with cilantro. Not bad...

The cocktails, however, were way too expensive for such an unimpressive attempt to impress. I had the St. Germaine Cocktail with Sauvignon Blanc, soda, and lemon peel. It was boring and poorly mixed. My dining partner and friend had the Zombie, which was waaay to sweet.

Check out the pictures below for a glimpse of the rooftop decor.

I didn't get an opportunity to fully explore the decor inside the hotel, but I did capture a couple of lighting pieces for you.

Nice!

  1. Dang! I went to the W Rooftop a few Fridays ago, and I thought it was great! I too had the St. Germaine cocktail, and I loved it. I had three (he he). The only food I had were their samosas, which I enjoyed as well. Give it another shot.
