Light fixtures are a very important feature in a room. All four corners and the floor and ceiling are critical in a space. Leave no stone unturned, or no ceiling without a point of interest. There are so many fascinating light fixtures that even your ceiling can be effectively designed.

Additionally, lighting creates mood, ambiance, and affect to every room. You know how you hate working in certain offices, or eating in cafeterias. The lights in those places are begging you to leave. Be careful when choosing bulbs; you don't want certain rooms to be too bright, like the dining room or bedroom. A dimer might be the perfect solution if you will need a brighter light for some instances but do not want it all the time.

Choose your light like you would choose any other decor item in your home. This is your opportunity to shine :D

Happy Weekend

Not only is it supposed to snow heavily all weekend here in Washington, D.C., but it is supposed to "thundersnow". Don't know what thundersnow is? Well I didn't either until today. Apparently, it's when it snows and thunderstorms at the same time. Imagine that?

Well I've got food, movies, and Internet. I'm good to go. Happy Weekend! Wishing you coziness and warmth, both in your home and in your heart.

Art Basel Miami Beach

Last weekend I attended Art Basel Miami Beach in Miami, Florida. It is a huge art show in Miami filled with tons of exhibitions, films, music, architecture and design; and it features artists all over the world. I'm am not very knowledgeable about the art world, so I learned a lot. Art is an important part of any home, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Never let anyone dictate for you what is art and what is good art.

There was so much to see, and there was no way to capture it all. With so many pictures paired with my limited knowledge of art, I will simply post the pics for you to peruse.
